Michael Trevor – Barnston who gave us an excellent talk about his travels in Bhutan in the last session kindly agreed to give another talk, at very short notice, when a gap in the programme for today appeared a few days before printing! We had intended to use his talk on Burma, or, Myanmar, for the 2017/18 session.
Michael has made two visits to Burma and on the last one he and his companions were fortunate to be able to go into newly opened areas, hitherto off limits for tourists.
Interestingly, like Susan Sellers, Michael has been High Sherrif of Cheshire and is a very good speaker and takes excellent photographs. His talk this evening should be an interesting insight into this colourful and fascinating Country that is coming back into the ‘free’ World, after decades of military rule.
